10 Most Disappointing Rock & Metal Albums Of 2020

4. Code Orange - Underneath

Keeping up momentum after releasing a groundbreaking Grammy winning record can be difficult, but for Code Orange that task would evidently prove to be impossible.

Having broken into the big league of metal music in 2017 with their record, ‘Forever’, Code Orange showed the world exactly what they’re capable of. However, ‘Underneath’ was not able to capture the same spark of distorted, uncomfortable metal excellence as its predecessor.

Despite its high level of exposure and acknowledgement, ‘Underneath’ failed to achieve a sense of consistency and saw several songs swept from your memory as they were far outclassed by other songs on the record such ‘Eating the Rabbit Hole’.

Code Orange are still relatively new to the mainstream metal scene, but if they continue to make albums such as this one, then their stay at the top could prove to be quite short.
