10 Most Hated Musicians Of All Time
10. Lou Reed & Metallica
Reason: LULU
Most people tend to dream of what happens when supergroups first get together. Since both respective acts tend to make beautiful music on their own, bringing them together is sure to be something special. Or at least that's what people would have thought were it not for acts like Lou Reed and Metallica.
Coming together to commemorate the anniversary of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the initial collaboration for the thrash legends and the king of art rock seemed at least intriguing at first. Once Lulu was unleashed though, fans got a real taste of how far each respective act could sink. In both respects, this album doesn't work to please either Lou Reed or Metallica fans, as most of the Lou Reed spoken word bits are all but drowned out by the massive riffs coming from James Hetfield's amplifier.
On the other hand, Metallica fans were probably not too enamored with this either, as most of the potentially great licks from the band are nullified by a guy saying some weird poetry over the top of everything. Still, neither party really went out of their way to bash it either, with both Reed and Metallica proudly standing by their weird creation for the sake of experimenting. Even though Reed has now passed on from this Earth, this is far from the first thing he should be remembered for.
