5. Queen Zee - Queen Zee

Overnight punk rock success is hard to come by in the modern music industry, but Queen Zee came extremely close in 2019. Having announced themselves to the nation in 2018 by supporting the Marmozets on a UK tour, Queen Zee were soon steamrolling underground, grass-roots music venues across the UK with their own headline tour.

The Liverpool based band capitalised on this momentum by releasing their debut record in 2019. This great, high energy album included some amazing modern punk tunes, earning them at spot at Download Festival and Reading & Leeds Festival in 2019. Sadly, the flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long, and Queen Zee disbanded seemingly out of nowhere in late 2019. Of all the shock break-ups in modern rock music, Queen Zee’s was certainly one of the most upsetting.
