10 Perfect Songs That Were Written Incredibly Fast

2. Supersonic - Oasis

For all of the accolades that Oasis have gotten for their breakout album Definitely Maybe, it wasn't an easy ride to get there. Before Owen Morris entered the picture, the Manchester lads had gone through 3 different studios and recorded the album 3 times over, with nothing really capturing the sound of what they did live. On one of their last attempts to cut a single though, Noel Gallagher decided to start from scratch and emerged with a classic.

Ducking into the Pink Museum in Liverpool, the band were supposed to cut the song Bring It On Down to be their first single, only to run into problems every single take with Tony McCarroll's inconsistent drumming. After deciding to take a break for dinner from a Chinese takeaway up the street, Noel stayed behind and wrote the entirety of Supersonic by the time the band returned, convincing them that they should be working on this song instead of Bring It On Down.

Even though some of these lines are classics, you can almost tell the spur of the moment energy in some of the different musical passages here, from the simple structure to the name Elsa referring to a dog in the studio that was known for farting when she lingered around in the control room. There's not much meat in this song to grab onto, but if you have this kind of attitude behind you, sometimes the bare basics are really all you need.
