RELEASED: 31 May 2004 "Borrowed Heaven" was The Corrs' fourth studio album. Their first three had all been hugely successful in various parts of the world, but the overwhelming celtic flavour of their 1995 debut had gradually been whittled away, to the point that it was virtually undetectable in the sparkly pop of third album "In Blue". Album number four saw something of an attempt to return to a slightly more celtic-influenced sound. At most, the celtic influence was only briefly revisited in a handful of places, with most tracks more a hybrid of the "Talk On Corners" and "In Blue" sound than recalling the heavily celtic "Forgiven Not Forgotten". And ten years later? It actually seems a stronger album than I recall. In 2004 I felt generally let down by "Borrowed Heaven", but with the passing of time I've mellowed to it - "Miracle" and "Confidence For Quiet" in particular. It's still far from being my favourite Corrs release, but the gap's definitely reduced.
