Though he may have had some decent chops behind his instrument, hearing this guy who looks like a frat bro singing about this girl's bubblegum tongue was enough to turn a lot of people off and they just never returned. But you wanna know a little secret? John might actually be siding with you guys on this one.

Ever since his big hit, John has practically made an entire career trying to shake off that side of his sound, bringing in a lot of blues textures and even bits and pieces of country into the mix.
