10 Popular Performers That Prove Modern Pop Isn't All Bad

2. Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran is a modern enigma in music. The guy has become a bit of a heart throb for teenage girls. Yet his music is actually...intelligent. Cue gasps. Whatsmore, he€™s a short, ginger, British fella. Don€™t worry it confuses me as well. But Sheeran€™s popularity is very, very good news indeed! Because, if today€™s youth can start paying attention to an artist that can write songs as meaningful and affecting as The A-Team and Small Bump, then maybe we are heading for another golden age in music. He€™s even used his talents to write for One Direction. Sure, it still sounds like overheated faeces...but at least it has meaning behind it. Sheeran's first album + was a fantastic collection of songs. I thoroughly enojyed everything on it from heart wrenching ballad Give Me Love through to the surprisingly energetic You Need Me, I Don't Need You. I am very much looking forward to seeing what Sheeran has to contribute to pop in the future.
