Ed Sheeran is a modern enigma in music. The guy has become a bit of a heart throb for teenage girls. Yet his music is actually...intelligent. Cue gasps. Whatsmore, hes a short, ginger, British fella. Dont worry it confuses me as well. But Sheerans popularity is very, very good news indeed! Because, if todays youth can start paying attention to an artist that can write songs as meaningful and affecting as The A-Team and Small Bump, then maybe we are heading for another golden age in music. Hes even used his talents to write for One Direction. Sure, it still sounds like overheated faeces...but at least it has meaning behind it. Sheeran's first album + was a fantastic collection of songs. I thoroughly enojyed everything on it from heart wrenching ballad Give Me Love through to the surprisingly energetic You Need Me, I Don't Need You. I am very much looking forward to seeing what Sheeran has to contribute to pop in the future.
