In 2013, she became a judge on the competitive reality show American Idol and was praised for her straight-talking but compassionate attitude to contestants. Minaj has also shown talent as an actor. In addition to minor film roles, she proved her comedy chops when appearing as the musical guest on a James Franco-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live. She appeared in several skits and was the highlight of the night, particularly during her spot-on impersonation of her friend Beyonce. The singer's acting skills are not actually surprising. She auditioned for and attended an exclusive performing arts high school in New York and had originally intended to make her career on the stage, so there's a strong chance we'll see a lot more of her ability in the future.
