10 Rockers Who Yelled At Their Fans Onstage

10. Alice in Chains Changes Lyrics

Every band that knows the touring life is going to have a certain vocabulary when dealing with hecklers. Even though comedians have the luxury of heckling back at their haters and turning the audience in their favor, it's a bit of a tricky beast when you have to still play a song at the end of things. Just as Alice in Chains were coming up the ranks though, they knew just the right way to put their critics in their place.

Around the time that they were breaking out after the release of Facelift, Alice were being dragged through the mud by one of the people in the crowd, who also managed to work his way up to the front of the stage. While you do see Layne Staley start to say something to the security and even call the guy out before going into the next song, the entire band's comedic timing couldn't have been better for what came next.

Launching right into Man in the Box, everyone tore through the song with the same amount of energy, only with the anger pointed exclusively at this one dude in the audience. If you listen closely, you can also hear both Layne and Jerry change the lyrics to the song to be about this attention hungry guy, with "can you sew them shut?" being replaced with "can you suck my d*ck?." You're always going to come across these people when you play live, but it takes a special kind of rockstar to recover this well.
