10 Surprising Music Videos You Never Expected From The Song

10. Fighter - Christina Aguilera

In a time where pop was all about sexy women in skimpy outfits singing about how sexy they were and how skimpy their outfits were, Christina Aguilera ruled the roost.

The former Mickey Mouse Club kid had an amazing voice and put it to good work on songs like Genie in a Bottle, Lady Marmalade, and Candyman. The videos for these tunes usually involved Aguilera dancing around to the tune in question attempting (and usually succeeding) to seduce everyone watching.

And then there's Fighter.

This single from the star's fourth album Stripped was released in March 2003 and got a video to accompany it. Gone were the trappings of teen pop that had defined her previous work - Christina had gone full emo.

With the singer decked out in pale white makeup and black garments, the video for Fighter is dark both in content and colour palette. Aguilera is also surrounded by moths and strange ballerina girls walking around on crutches.

It's not quite a horror movie, but you could see it becoming one.

Stripped was supposed to be Aguilera taking control of her own musical destiny, and this video certainly supported that message.
