Queens' third album contains a lot to get excited about. Heralded by many as their best album to date, one single hour-long play through will take you on a manic (and not to mention a superbly soundtracked) journey from the dizzying metropolis of Los Angeles to the sparseness and calm of Joshua Tree, California. By bridging the album's fourteen songs with often lengthy and entirely fictitious radio show cuttings (in multiple languages no less), Josh Homme and co. are able to add a completely fresh dimension to their already mesmerising musical work. Surely this is the kind of idea that has musicians everywhere kicking themselves for failing to come up with it first?
