11 Phenomenal Underground Artists That Deserve Your Attention

9. Katie Sharp

Katie is honestly just fantastic. Not only does she resemble a beautiful porcelain doll, but her voice is so sweet that the adjective 'angelic' instantly comes to mind when describing her. Hailing from Manchester she's got a big music legacy to live up to, whilst listing some bigger names as favourite artists including The Maccabees, Joy Division and Sigur Rós. There's a distinct Northern twang to her lyrics but this only adds to her appeal: she's just a girl, with a guitar. And bucket loads of talent. And a pretty face. Gah. She kind of makes you hate her (just kidding! She's far too lovely for that). 'Remember Me' is one of Katie's own songs, at seventeen years old she demonstrates a fantastic penchant for songwriting that bodes well for a musical career €“ it's refreshing when artists are fully immersed in the production of their own material. If you'd like more than one song to get your teeth into, then she's covered a broad spectrum of artists, and has videos visible on her YouTube channel. Her music taste is far reaching, with her covers including the likes of John Mayer, The Pretty Reckless, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Plain White T's and Jake Bugg (making 'Two Fingers' sound far more pleasant and less grating due to her saccharine vocals).
