I mean as names go its not as provocative as Anal Cunt, but there arent many that are. In the case of Hang The Bastard their nom de plume is more evocative than provocative; bringing to mind the ferocity and righteousness of a pitchfork and torch bearing mob bringing some bastard to justice when justice meant snapping a neck with a noose and letting them swing. Spawned in 2007, the five piece have since churned out songs of such a violent concoction they couldnt be called anything else. Delivering as they do a mixture of sludge, hardcore, thrash, blues and doom theyre pretty fucking heavy, and fierce; none more so than frontman Chris who is a sight to behold live and brings to mind a particularly vicious Phil Anselmo.
