Chicago band Wilco's 4th studio album is tender, beautiful, and musically varied. Everything is placed perfectly; every piano chord, every beat of percussion, every harmonised vocal. 'Yankee Hotel Foxtrot' is the art rock album of the Americana world, and while it moves the listener with it sublime nature, it's lyrics envoke a rebellious feel, notably in the songs 'Jesus, etc', 'Ashes of American Flags' and 'War on War'. Critics compared 'Yankee Hotel Foxtrot' to 'Kid A', and it's clear to see why. But while the album has the ability to alienate listeners, it can also move you in amazing ways.
