15 Best Foo Fighters Songs

By Shira Segal /

In honor of my favorite band in the world coming out with new music (announced August 17th on Rolling Stone and NME), I have decided to compile a list that has taken me over a week to finalize. The best of the best songs of the best band ever. Well, it is to me, anyway! Dave Grohl has, single-handedly, created a rock machine, putting out giant hits that everyone sings along to (or yell with). From the cult classic "Learn To Fly" to their latest (and spectacular) album they made in Dave's garage, "Wasting Light", there is no stopping this talented, driven, easy going SOB (and sexiest man alive, as far as I'm concerned). I have been a FF fan since 1995, it's been the only band I have bought every single album of, and have seen a bunch of times in concert. I have never seen a show of theirs that was less than 3 hours long, without intermission. They're amazing, wild, crazy mo-fos and this list was excruciating to put together. Choosing 15 of their best songs? Almost impossible! And here's a couple DG quotes for you guys out there who think this guy is as awesome as I do... What's the one song of the last 25 years that you wish you'd written? "Mass Destruction by Faithless. That's perfect." Which song would you have played at your funeral? "Why Can't We Be Friends? by War . That came off the top of my head but I like it. I'm going to have to keep that." Enjoy, Rockers!
