An oft-forgotten slice of Green Day at their most anarchic, The Grouch is written from the point of view of a crotchety old nihilist. It's an unapologetic, foul-mouthed rant against life in general, and probably gained the most attention when performed in impromptu, uncensored fashion on a daytime Australian music show. Best Bit: The lyrics, which are unashamedly bratty: "I don't have fun and I hate everything / The world owes me so f*** you"
