15 Best Infected Mushroom Tracks

15. U R So F*cked

This was IM’s first attempt at dubstep, and needless to say, it worked. They managed to hit all the key spots, most notably the traditional ‘wub wub’ sounds that dominate the genre. Being dubstep, this track is filled with sharp and attack-heavy sounds, yet it still retains certain Infected Mushroom elements, such as ‘ominous’ sounding strings, heavily-synthesized leads, and a strong rise that leads into a heavy crescendo.

And in this particular case, that crescendo sounds like something you’d hear at a Skrillex concert: heavy bass drops, the sharpest-possible leads, and a raspy voice screaming ‘FUUUUUUUUUU’ as loud as possible. IM must’ve enjoyed a lot of success with this track, because not only has it been remixed by several other artists, but the band’s more recent albums have followed in this track’s footsteps, adopting even more experimental elements and styles that are more akin to dubstep and electro than they are to psychedelic music.

Though a controversial entry to be sure, especially for the Infected Mushroom ‘purists’, this track shows that, with enough patience and dedication, one can break into pretty much any musical genre, no matter how inexperienced they might be in it.
