15 Most Pulse-Pounding Motörhead Tracks

8. Killed by Death

"Killed by Death" was one of the few original songs recorded for the 1984 compilation album No Remorse and was the first to feature the new line-up of Lemmy, Phil Campbell, Würzel, and Pete Gill; the first time Lemmy had hired two guitarists to bolster his already formidable wall of sound. "Killed By Death" is a classic cut of heavy metal but with one noticeable, genre-defining difference. At two minutes and 45 seconds Lemmy unleashes a vocal line that can only be described as a black metal rasp later made famous by the likes of genre-pioneers Bathory, Mayhem and Darkthrone. Darkthrone have practically been recording Motörhead records in recent years, transforming their tinnitus inducing, black metal racket into a black n' roll, punked-up Motörhead tribute act, so its pretty safe to say that they were listening very intently when Lemmy played some vocal tricks of his own on this underrated track.
