Alice Cooper is the man who brought the art of vaudeville and stagecraft to rock n' roll, and every rock or pop star who's ever indulged in a high camp costume change, performed from a theatrical set or backdrop, engaged in playing characters during their set and/or indulged in high concept pantomime as a stage gimmick, owes Alice a debt of gratitude, and possibly some form of commission. At the height of his notoriety, Alice would be brutally executed for all his various on-stage crimes - including torture, abuse, murder, mayhem, and random acts of cruelty - thereby engaging in a sordid, gruesome and operatic grand guignol morality play to the tune of scuzzy, amped up rock n' roll. If all of that doesn't make you want to form a band, like, yesterday, then you need to seriously rethink the way you approach your lives.
