"We drink and we dry up and now we crumble into dust/We get wet and we corrode and now we're covered up in rust," frontman Craig Finn bellows at the climax of Stuck Between Stations. The song, the big anthemic opener from the band's biggest and most accessible album 2006's "Boys & Girls in America" "Stuck Between Stations" is the kind of rock song you play on the first day of spring, when the temperature finally gets above freezing and you can roll down your car windows and feel summer flowing in. Producer John Agnello purposefully buries Finn's voice in loud classic rock guitars and shimmering piano keys, forcing listeners to turn up the volume to keep pace. It's a genius production move that makes "Stations" just about the ultimate bar-band rock song.
