Kanye West has enjoyed one of the greatest ascents in the history of hip-hop. Early on he had dreams of being a rap superstar, but was initially noticed only as a producer. After making a name for himself in his hometown of Chicago he would later align himself with Jay-Z, Dame Dash and Roc-A-Fella Records and the rest, as they say, was history. West first gained recognition for his work on Jay-Z's The Blueprint in 2001, as well as hit singles for artists including Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Talib Kweli and more. Kanye, of course, went on to become one of the world's best-selling artists of all time, having sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. He has won a total of 21 Grammy Awards, making him one of the most awarded artists of all-time as well. Though, as popular as he has become there are still a few tracks that even the most hardcore Kanye fan may not have heard before. Prior to shocking the world with his debut album College Dropout, Kanye was still trying to prove that he was viable as a rapper. In late '02 and early '03, he began releasing a number of mixtapes featuring not only tracks he'd produced for other artists, but also the solo material he'd been perfecting for years. So today we've compiled those mixtape songs as well as little-known guest features to present you with twenty Kanye West songs you've probably never heard before.
