A lot of hip hop fans don't know it, but way back when, Kanye was part of a rap group known as the Go Getters. Comprised of Kanye and Chi-Town rap legends GLC, Timmy G, and Arrowstar. The group did a few promo shoots and even made a few radio appearances. Since Kanye was on papers with another company, he couldnt release a solo project at the time, so he decided to release music as part of a group. The Go Getters released their one and only album, World Record Holders, in 1999, which was distributed throughout the Chicagoland area. The album didn't really make any noise but it did spawn a few notable tracks including "Fight With The Best" which is essential listening if you want to hear Kanye before the money and fame. A simpler time, if you will.
