4. God Save The Queen - The Sex Pistols

When Johnny Rotten, Sid Vicious et al launched their scathing attack on the Queen and 'her fascist regime' they caused a s*it storm large enough to level London itself. Released during Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee, the lyrics, along with the cover artwork, caused immediate controversy and yet the band's intention was simply to draw attention to the plight of the working man; actually signifying a love for their country as opposed to animosity. 'God Save the Queen' was banned by BBC (now there's a surprise) but it became a punk rock classic.
