There really is no redeeming feature to Kid Rock's American Badass, it's an insipid collection of self congratulation for himself as he ruminates about how many records he's sold, the chicks he's banged and how rebellious he is because he gave a nice person the finger once. It's also debatable as to how many cowboys hailed from Detroit, but that's beside the point. The music in the background is particularly good and it should be, because his band didn't play it. Save for some sampling, the music in the background is by and large just Sad But True by Metallica. There's the odd guitar solo from his own band but the bulk of the work going on here was done years before by Metallica and Bob Rock.
