It's still fresh in the mind of anyone with an iPhone that U2 and Apple's joint venture in September had U2's newest album pushed automatically into their iTunes libraries with no regard to whether or not the user actually liked the band. It was a PR disaster and unfortunately has cast a blight on what is possibly the best U2 song since Beautiful Day. The Miracle is different and ear-catching because it sounds nothing like your average U2 song. It's raw, the arrangement isn't a standard pop one, you can actually hear The Edge playing his guitar rather than a load of effects units, and it's the first memorable song they've released since Vertigo. It's just a shame it'll always be remembered for the iTunes fiasco, rather than the decent song it actually is.
