14. El Manana

It's funny how Gorillaz are so technologically and musically ambitious, but it's the quieter, more conventional tracks that steal the limelight: El Manana is no different. It's a quiet cafe on a street of nightclubs; the gentle guitar and soft atmospherics create something rather downbeat, and again, the vocal line only adds to this pensive mood. And it's a particular skill that Albarn seems to have; he can effortlessly match the backing of his track, accentuate the mood and write a beautiful set of lyrics that ape for a simpler world. It's a fans favourite, and a gem on 'Demon Days'.
