Let's start with one we all know.

There are so few pop songs that are both fabulously upbeat and sardonic as 'Girls and Boys'; the Pet Shops Boys and the Smiths are just two bands that don't intersect a Venn Diagram's central spot. But not only is 'Girls and Boys' pop gold, it's wryly clever. It was a sign of lyrical things to come from Damon, and though it's definitely a product of its era - it's got "1994" tattooed all over it - it's a perfect example of the Britpop aesthetic. The track not only launched 'Parklife', it launched Blur into The Biggest Thing In Pop; the band would never be the same again. Some say that music would never be the same again either.
