The BBCs Sound Of 2013 nominee, Parma Violets are a London band that promise big things for the coming year. Just this week has their single Step Up for the Cools Cats been revealed as Zane Lowes hottest record in the world. Their previous release Best Friends won NMEs best track of 2012 award, although Im not sure if that carries any cultural relevance. Gathering comparisons with The Libertines and appearing on the NME Awards tour in 2013 Parma Violets are going to be ones to watch out for this year, and hopefully not just another flash in the pan band that NME will help rise up then bring them back down as they have had a habit of doing in the past few years.
