Another "party song", this is one of the Beasties more enduring tracks. Featuring a booming bass and an old school 808 drum machine, "Brass Monkey" can probably be blamed for giving high school and college kids a new favorite and easy to make drink. Stand out line: "You got a dry martini, you thinking you're cool/I'll take your place at the bar, I smack you off your stool"
28. Sure Shot
If one word had to be chosen to describe this song, it would be "cool". Between that cheesy but catchy flute loop, the looped drums, DJ Hurricane and a flawless flow, "Sure Shot" is one of the Beasties better straight up hip-hop songs. It also features a verse by MCA sharing wisdom on the treatment of women. There are a lot of great lines too, making it difficult to choose a stand out one. It also gets bonus points for a Spike Jonze-directed music video. Stand out line: "Well, I'm that kid in the corner, all fucked up and I wanna so I'm gonna/Take a piece of the pie, why not, I'm not quittin', think I'm-a change up my style just to fit in?"
27. Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun
How can a song sound so angry yet so funky at the same time? Featuring sweet percussion and a heavy, chugging riff, the Beasties are out to let everyone know not to mess with them. This is basically nu-metal before there was something called nu-metal. Except it doesn't suck. Stand out line: "Rapid fire Louie, like Rambo got bullets/I'm'a die harder, like my kid Bruce Willis"
