Aka "The Lion Sex Song". It's not so much any of the lyrics that are a cause for concern as the overall tone of the song. On the face of it, Can You Feel The Love is a beautiful, romantic song as two childhood friends finally realise their love for each other. But from "the sweet caress of twilight" onwards, the whole thing's just a little too sexy to comfortably fit into a children's film. The song also deals with the inevitable fact that falling in love means the end of a man's social life. Timon and Pumba look on (perverts), discussing the impact that Simba and Nala's relationship will have on their friendship: And if he falls in love tonight,It can be assumed,His carefree days with us,Are history, in short,Our pal is doomed. Damn relationships, ruining all the fun. Not only does the song feel like a pornographic film directed by David Attenborough, but it firmly establishes women as little more than a ball-and-chain for generations of children. However, everyone was too busy trying to work out if the letters in the stars were 'SFX' or 'SEX' to notice that the song is better suited to a Romcom than a Disney film.
