In its released form, Kanye West's homecoming features vocals from Coldplay's Chris Martin. In the original demo, it's Kanye and John West, with choral vocals in the background creating a distinct, hip-hop sound.

The studio version €“ recorded from West's 2007 album Graduation €“ also features up-tempo piano and a single pounding drum.

Though these changes may seem small, the sound of the song is vastly different, with the original sounding like an organic slice of hip-hop and the studio recording sounding a lot slicker, but with a lot less soul.
