8 Incredible Albums You Missed In 2018
8. The Beths - Future Me Hates Me
If you're looking for a modern day version of the Beach Boys, mixed with a tinge of 90s indie rock then Australian four-piece, The Beths, will certainly be your cup of tea. Their debut album, Future Me Hates Me, is full of the sort of catchy songs that made bands like The Pixies and The Dandy Warhols famous back in the day.
The Beach Boys comparison comes from the fact that all members manage to harmonise exceptionally well and the other band members only strengthen lead singer, Elizabeth Stokes, vocals even more. There's a lot of energy on each track, but none of it's wasted at any point on any song and that's rare to see from a first album.
It's a solid first outing from a band who feel like they've came out of nowhere, but are definitely here to stay.
