AC/DC - EVERY Album Ranked Worst To Best
15. Ballbreaker (1995)
Released in 1995, half way between 1990’s The Razors Edge and 2000’s Stiff Upper Lip, Ballbreaker was the bands second album to reach number one in the album charts of their home country of Australia. The albums lead single, Hard as a Rock, also scored the band their second number one in the US Mainstream Rock chart.
The album’s title track, Ballbreaker, was never released as a single. This decision becomes increasingly strange when you realise the track is one of the stronger songs from the album. The other album tracks unfortunately fail to bring anything special, a shame considering the consistent strength of other album tracks by the band.
Hard as a Rock and Cover You in Oil appear as the albums first and third singles respectively, and while both songs are good tracks, neither of them specifically stand out among AC/DC’s generally fantastic line up. The albums best track comes in the form of its second single, Hail Caesar.
While this track alone is certainly not enough to boost the albums ranking, the song certainly stands out compared to the other tracks the album has to offer.
