If a listener hadnt already felt like this album was just a bit repetitive, this is about the moment when it would hit them. But, like I said earlier, if you were (as you should have been) expecting that repetitiveness, "Hurt So Good" stands out as that very necessary talk about the friend you like song. Bieber-Jepsen fans finally get that collab track theyve been waiting on, but it feels like this cut will never really do the kind of damage this team effort would be expected to do. This could be contributed to an instrumental that can only be described as a little too laid back, a lack of a real wow moment of harmony, or a couple of other less-likely possibilities, but in the end; this duet leaves too much to the imagination.
