Listen To Steve Smyth Streaming Video For His Debut Album Release
His debut album, Release, is going to be released on the 19th March via TeenAgeRiot Music, and we’ll be covering it here at WhatCulture but until then here’s a taster of what to expect.
Steve Smyth has an impressive beard and an impressive sound to match. Stating influences such as Tom Waits, Neil Young and Bob Dylan with tinges of Nirvana and Rufus Wainwright, this young singer-songwriter has a unique style coupled with an even more distinctive voice thats as rough as sandpaper one moment and smooth as velvet the next. Hes already toured with the likes of Angus and Julia Stone, Avi Buffalo, Ben Harper and Howling Bells (Bells singer Juanita Stein guests on Smyths debut album) and hes also collaborated with Sean Lennon and Operation Juliet. But, all this name-calling isnt a means of trying to express how good he is, because his debut album proves that even without his musical journey involving such names, hed have gotten noticed anyway. Its his solo work where he really pins down his creative talent and shows his knack of writing quality songs. http://youtu.be/F4FjaY2NZKg His debut album, Release, is going to be released on the 19th March via TeenAgeRiot Music, and well be covering it here at WhatCulture but until then heres a taster of what to expect. www.facebook.com/stevesmythofficialwww.stevesmyth.com.au
