PJ Harvey - Ranking Her Albums From Worst To Best

3. To Bring You My Love

Widely considered Harvey€™s breakout album into the mainstream, To Bring You My Love is a dark, brooding album, which differed lyrically and musically from her previous releases. Recruiting Flood to help with the album, and the producer€™s previous work with Nine Inch Nails and The Smashing Pumpkins really comes across in the sound of the album. Musically, Harvey sounds closer to heavy metal than alternative rock, and her use of voice manipulators adds to the mysterious aura around such songs as €˜Down By The Water€™ and €˜Long Snake Moan€™. It's an essential part of the PJ Harvey discography.
