9. "Greater Than Less Than" - Saliva/Every Six Seconds
One of the more inspiring songs from my life and a markup during a peculiar time in my life, Saliva brought forth "Greater Than Less Than" on their original self-titled album back in 1997, and then immediately covered it on their sophomore album, Every Six Seconds. While that remains a mystery why they did so, it should be noted that a special purpose was intended for the cover of their ow material. "Greater Than Less Than", a song about us as a person for being the best that we can be but also imperfect all at once, struck some cords into those who first listened to it. It's a reflection song on the self, issuing an analysis of one's own life and personality and how far they've come and far they have yet to go, because we're "greater than but less than what we are." Saliva has always brought the best out of the rockers out there, those that use music as an escape but in return are given a evaluation of themselves, thankful for everything they have and where they're going in life. With "Greater Than Less Than", it's Saliva looking into the hearts and minds of the fans and letting them all know we're average, yet pure at the same time.
