Does it matter? Absolute not.

This thing crushes. Slays. Slaps. Destroys. It's a straight-up ripper devoid of melody and exactly the kind of chewed-up metal Slipknot made their name on in the late '90s/early '00s, sounding like something straight off their self-titled record or Iowa, making it an absolute must-listen for anyone who misses that old sound.

Corey is as venomous as the pace is dangerous. "Red Flag" is 4:11 of controlled chaos that sounds like it could hurtle out of control at any second, but never truly does. Slipknot know exactly what they're doing here. They mastered songs like this a long time ago and on an album full of tracks that push their sound to its limits, it's refreshing to hear them drop an old-school banger right in the middle of We Are Not Young Kind.
