The more keenly observant of you may have noticed that Metallica front man James Hetfield has toned down his use of more colorful language in the last few years. There was once a time when the frontman abused everyone stupid enough to come to his performance and stand in the front row, this could include spitting on them, throwing beer in their faces or just repeated uses of the 'C' word. Nowadays, thanks in part to his wife and also thanks in part to parental responsibility, Metallica have toned down their act and become more 'family friendly' - even selling a range of baby clothes on their official website (you don't believe me, go and check!) Anyway, in 1996, at the MTV European music awards the band were scheduled to perform. They took to the stage and performed two songs, neither of which they were supposed to play, due to the band's apparent dislike of MTV censorship. Many say this act was itself scripted or the band would have been banned from MTV, regardless, they thrashed and swore their way around a vulgar set list that could make a docker blush. There are a number of reasons any sensibly thinking fan would request this track.
