2. Dead Milkmen - If You Love Somebody Set Them On Fire

The Dead Milkmen are a satirical punk band from the US. Their albums gained most notoriety towards the end of the 80's when they were signed to Hollywood Records. Heavy rotation on MTV and with college radio stations led to a moderate level of touring and success with songs like 'Bitchin Camaro' though the band split in 1995 and reformed in 2008. Sadly bassist Dave Schulthise had committed suicide in 2004 from a drug overdose. Their bassist's suicide provided the spark that brought the band back together for a one off memorial performance in 2004 and then they reunited full time in 2008. This track appears on the 1990 album 'Metaphysical Graffiti' whose title €“ and cover €“ are a parody of Led Zeppelin's seminal recording 'Physical Graffiti' and was the band's fifth album in six years. If nothing else you have to give these guys credit for effort. We're not sure that if, when choosing your perfect Valentine's list, the Dead Milkmen will have even entered your head before now. But in case obscure underground punk is something you think might be a wise choice €“ in this instance €“ we'd suggest airing on the side of caution and just not include it. Don't give them ideas, especially if you've just met. A criminal record check might just be in order if your new-found love insists on bringing this one to dinner.
