We couldn't really have a countdown of any description about anti-love songs without a mention of this track. In a funny way the only songs J Geils and his band are most remembered for are anti-love tracks such as 'Centerfold' ("my blood ran cold, my memory has just been sold") and this one. Geils band featured another member named Magic Dick (I wish I could tell you that was a joke) who played saxophone and harmonica. Not surprising when you think about it. Jizzy Pearl and Tracii Guns toured with a version of the L.A. Guns in 2011, covering this song with a slower arrangement on the album 'Acoustic Guns' you'd be well advised to check this version out though we think Pearl's voice is a certainly an acquired taste. If you've ever been fortunate to see Adam Sandler's brilliant 80's parody comedy The Wedding Singer, then you'll know it's one of the ultimate karaoke performances needed for a breakup. Without doubt a brilliant stroke of musical 80s genius. Also a great morning after song if the previous evening's romantic encounter starts to give you second thoughts as you open your eyes and look at the opposing pillow.
