Sausages are lovely, even when they're full of sawdust, but do you think you could munch your way through the longest sausage in the world? In 2014, a Romanian supermarket chain and local meat supplier beat the previous Guinness World Record for the longest sausage in the world, previously held by a group in the UK, by a full two miles. Measuring a mind-blowing 38.99 miles, the sausage could have stretched from Manchester to Stoke-on-Trent (as the crow flies). The behemoth was made out of tonnes of ground meat (none of your pork and apple here) mostly as a publicity stunt and part of the massive meaty treat was donated to charity after it was completed. Thankfully people who came along to grab a look at it were also allowed to sample it. Although with a sausage that huge, it's hard to imagine the quality was up to much!
