Another great thing about a low-carb diet is that you don't have to cut out treats. You can still have your cake and eat it too (not literally though of course! Cake is pretty much satan and you need to banish it from your guts and soul). You can still have dessert as often as you like- you just need to adjust your expectations ever so slightly. Rather than brownies (ew) or cupcakes (blerg) or rich, salted caramel gelato (yuck forever), you've discovered the most wonderful form of dessert there is: fruit. To be clear, you're not going to be juicing the fruit because everyone knows that drinking one glass of juice will immediately turn you diabetic. No, you're just going to be munching away on it, as Mother Earth intended. You're also not going to be eating just any old fruit because some of it is obscenely sugary (Mother Earth is a real trickster that way). Grapes are out. So are bananas. No mangoes, cherries, figs or oranges. The occasional apple is OK. But you'll mostly stick to the lowest carb fruits- lemons and limes. Good thing they're also the most delicious!
