This experiment was carried out by YouTubers DM Pranks Productions to highlight the fact that people perhaps dont pay enough attention to posters for missing children. The video shows a lost child Cristian sitting on a bench in a park filled with a number of Missing Child posters with his picture on them. Whilst thankfully a number of people in the video do stop to offer assistance to Cristian, the majority of the people filmed just continue walking. Many of those who walked past did actually pay attention to the Missing Child photos but were completely oblivious when passing Cristian that he was the child from the posters. Perhaps the most shocking aspect of the video however was the people who spotted Cristian and yet still walked on without offering him assistance. What the experiment does well The video highlights how people can be so caught up in their own lives that they can be completely oblivious to such a serious issue as a missing a child , even when they have the power to help resolve the issue. Possible Flaws If the young child in the video had really gone missing its hard to imagine that the only mention of it would be on posters in the local park. When Madeline McCann went missing whilst on holiday with her parents back in 2007 her picture was plastered all over the news to the extent that 8 years on from this tragedy Im sure pretty much all of us can picture what she looks like.
