7. What Do You Mean, I Cant Touch The Stones?

(Major construction) Decades ago, it was possible to walk amongst and touch the stones of this ancient structure. But then, morons decided to chip off pieces of rock and take them home, and so the Heritage people put up an ugly fence to counteract trespassers. For years, Stonehenge was notorious for being a letdown, and it was an attraction to be avoided rather than embraced. Today, with a brand new visiting center and a more friendly approach, Stonehenge is a bit more pleasant to visit. There's a rope barrier instead of the original fence, and viewing is by appointment only, so the crowds are a bit more controlled. But you still can't touch the stones; the privilege to walk amongst them is limited to 26 people per day, and the tickets sell out months in advance.
