Rowling certainly does not hold back when it comes to criticising Brexit and Scottish independence. Whilst there are plenty of people who agree with her positions, the main issue isn’t her actually views, but the fact that she feels the need to be so vocal about them, which in turn can become wearisome for those of us that follow her online.

However, when it comes to all creative industries, it is important to view art as separate from the artist. Her aggressive use of Twitter doesn’t take anything away from her novels. Indeed, even some of her more ludicrous additions to Harry Potter shouldn’t be seen as legitimate. Whatever she says online, Rowling can never change what’s already been published.
