Upon first moving to London, many people fall into that annoying few who bound onto the tube like Madeline and cheerfully screech Come on everybody! Cheer up! like they are at some kind of Jamboree. Luckily for commuters that spirit is bashed out of them within about two weeks. The commute is monstrous. An overpopulated and irritable workforce baying for territory on a thin metal tube underneath the ground, where the only thing that matters is getting a seat at whatever cost. It is basically an all out apocalyptic action thriller waiting to happen. But with more scalding hot Starbucks.
