This is one that usually ends up with someone having a pint thrown their way. For some reason, very few people fill the middle section of the Venn diagram that covers football supporters and rugby fans. There's a fervent dislike between the two groups, who both hate seeing the other sport on television and can't really stand people talking about it either. Football fans think rugby is a slow, boring sport with a funny-shaped ball. Rugby advocates, on the other hand, often draw attention to the enormous wages of footballers and their desire to stumble to the ground at every possible opportunity. There's little love lost between the two groups and they can often be seen arguing over the remote control on a Saturday afternoon. It's usually easier to stick the cricket on instead.
