4. The Career Of Bruno Mars

A somewhat more tenuous connection, but an undeniable one. Whilst he mostly gave up on a musical career of his own decades ago €“ take note, Shatner €“ Nimoy still took the time to star in an alternate video for pop star Bruno Mars' early hit "The Lazy Song". This was a simpler time, before "Uptown Funk" changed the face of music as people knew it. This was his second major acting role in a music video, having previously played a chauffeur in the video for The Bangles' version of €œGoing Down to Liverpool€ back in the eighties, and this appearance was significantly more substantial. But it's actually indicative of a rather more large connection Nimoy has to Mars. You see, the reason he even appeared in the video in the first place is because he's step-father to Aaron Bay-Schuck, thanks to his second marriage to Susan Bay (who is Michael Bay's cousin, funnily enough). Who is Aaron Bay-Schuck? Why, he's the record exec who signed Bruno Mars in the first place and made him a star. Would he have managed that without a famous step-dad helping out? Maybe not!
