10 Things We Learned From Elon Musk On Joe Rogan Experience
10. The True Story Behind X Æ A-12
Musk's appearance on the JRE just happens to coincide with a massive event in his personal life, as he announced the healthy birth of his first child with Canadian music artist Grimes on Monday, May fourth. Musk commented that the irony of his child's date of birth with the Star Wars joke was not lost on him and that he has appreciated the process of childbirth more this time around being older.
One of the most controversial topics surrounding the child's birth is the name the pair have chosen, X Æ A-12. Musk explained on the podcast that it was actually his partner who had originally conceived the outlandish name, with the Æ being pronounced "ash".
Despite Grimes having come up with the initial portion, Musk takes credit for the A-12, explaining that it is a reference to the Archangel-12, a reconnaissance aircraft that served as the precursor to the SR-71 Blackbird, which he describes with childlike enthusiasm as the "coolest plane ever."
